Re: Proposed Taylor Mode Golf Bclocatioa Carlsbad, CA
Dear Cynthia:
After an extensive study, Taylor Made Golf is contemplating a relocation from their current Cosmos Court facility to Lots 76, 80, 81 and portions of Lot 77 in the Csulrbad Research Ccnter. There are many elements which will lead to the ultimate decision to
remain in Carlsbad. With a desired move-in date of Sepumber 1997, we would like to discuss the following issues with you and hopefully receive your assurance that this would be an achievabIe time frame.
1. The proposed project would incorporate an approximately 180.000 square foot , oorponrte/maaufacruring facility along with a test facility for controlled eavironmcat testing of tho product. This controlled test facility will require us to drive golf balls approximately 300 yards an a proposed 340 yard site. Since the test facility is a necessary component of our plan, we would like to establish thc requirements and time frames for approval of the entire facility prim to submittal of the building plans.
(2 2. The developer will need to create a full intersection at the cul-&-sac fur ingress and egress to the facility. What is this approval process?
3. it would be beneficial to Taylor Made Golf to name the proposed cul-&-sac with a name that calls attention to our industry. Since Carlrbad io recognized 018 \he "Oolf Capital" of the world, it would be of benefit to the City w well. Our first choice would be Taylor Made Drive.
4. Does the approval process in the City of Carlsbad and the Carisbad Research Center run concurrently?
5. Could you please provide conditions for approval and a timelint for the following specific irema and any other issues necessary for approval:
a. Site ~IM approval b. Grading plan
c. Building permit d. Estimated time requirement for B lot line adjustment .
e. Access to the test facility for completion of range improvements during building construction (following certification of the grhding plan)

6. What assistance could the City of Carlsbnd provide in expediting the approval process?
We look forward to meeting with you as soon as possible to review our mutual desire
to ralocacc 4ar Carlsbad headquarters. Prior to this meeting, we would request that staff review the aforcmcntioned and be prepared to discuss specific issues and timelines. This meering will be cridcal to the ultimate decisioa to rcdn in Carlsbad with a target of September 1997 or prooaed with other alternatives in Vista. Thank
you in advance for expediting the requested information on short notice.
