RE: Local Coastal Program Amendment Request 1-89
Pursuant to Section 13553 of the Coastal Commission’s Administrative Regulations, this office has reviewed the City’s transmittal of the above-referenced amendment request described as follows:
1. An amendment to all segments of the certified Local Coastal Program (LCP) Land Use Plan to regulate on-shore support facilities serving off-shore oil exploration OK development.
2. An amendment to the Zoning Code component of the City’s certified LCP placing limitations on the placement of on-shore oil and gas facilities.
The Executive Director has determined that the amendment submittal is complete and legally adequate to comply with
Seciton 30510(b). It was deemed filed as of October 19, 1989.
Pursuant to Sections 30512 and 30514 of the Coastal Act, the review period for land use plan amendments is a maximum of 90 days, unless the Commission itself extends the applicable time limit. Since the proposed amendment includes changes to the land use plan, the 90 day time limit applies. Therefore, we have tentatively scheduled the proposed amendment for Commission review at its December 12-15 meeting in San Francisco. This office will notify you later with a specific date and time for the hearing.
