(1) revising the alignment and width of the pedestrian trail to correspond to the existing
agricultural road,
(2) eliminating non-agricultural landscaping along the trail,
(3) adding a second access point at the viewpoint immediately north of the new alignment,
and
(4) reducing the viewpoint at what was previously the eastern terminus of the trail to be
consistent in size with the other viewpoints along Armada Drive.
The amendment also consists of minor changes to the Carlsbad Ranch Specific Plan text and
exhibits to reflect the above changes.
The amendment will facilitate and reduce impacts to the agricultural operations by eliminating
the conversion of any agricultural acreage to non-agricultural uses, allowing unrestricted
movement of farm vehicles across the trail, maintaining maximum flexibility with respect to
future agricultural operations should there be a nekd to move the agricultural road, and reducing the introduction of pests into the agricultural crops via non-agricultural landscaping. The
amendment will also reduce dust generation by limiting the amount of bare, dirt surface, reduce
water usage, and maintain the character and visual amenity of the flower fields.

A map to scale not less than 1" = 200' showing each lot within 600 feet of
exterior boundaries of the subject property. Each of these lots shall be
consecutively numbered and correspond with the property owner's list. The
scale of the map may be reduced to a scale acceptable to the Planning Director if the required scale is impractical.

applicant shall indicate whether he prefers to dedicate land for school facilities, to
pay a fee in lieu thereof, or do a combination of these. If the applicant prefers to

Marcos Unified School District, the applicant shall submit written confirmation that
school facilities will be available to serve the project at time of need.
