To Interested Parties Please be advised that the City of Carlsbad is considering an amendment to the West Batiquitos segment of its Local Coastal Program (LCP) as summarized below. The proposed amendment was submitted by a project applicant and is presently under review. This notice hereby opens a six-week review period after which the Planning Commission and City Council will consider all comments and act on the proposed amendment. The Planning Commission hearing is expected to take place in October, 1993, and will be followed by a City Council hearing. Both hearings will be duly noticed. La Costa Branch Library oate 7750 "M" El C~O Re&gnarure Carlsbad I- Carlsbad 6- - LI -93 Development Services 2075 Las Palmas Drive PROPOSED LB AMENDMENT suMMARy/poINsEITIA SHORES MASIER PLAN - LCPA 91-02 The proposal involves an amendment to the Batiquitos Lagoon Educational Park (BLEP) master plan to replace educational and related uses with primarily residential uses. The subject master plan amendment (MP 175-D) will be accompanied with a General Plan amendment (GPA 91-5) and is located as shown on the attached location map. Exhibits are available for review in the Planning Department which depict the existing and proposed General Plan land use designations. This property is within the coastal zone and is covered under what was formerly known as the West Batiquitos/Sammis Local Coastal Program (LCP). The proposed amendment of the West Batiquitos LCP (LCPA 91-02) will reflect the changes to the allowed land uses established by the BLEP master plan. The east side of the master plan will be re-designated from educational and related uses to residential uses. The west side of the master plan will remain with the land uses currently allowed in BLEP for the south side of Avenida Encincas (hotel, conference center and tourist serving commercial). The north side of Avenida Encinas will be changed from a neighborhood commercial designation to an unplanned area that will be the subject of a future master plan amendment.
