SUBJECT: NOTIFICATION OF CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTANCE OF COASTAL
Dear Deborah,
COMMISSION MODIFICATIONS - WEST BATIQUITOS LCP - LCPA 91-02
This letter is to notify the Coastal Commission and staff that on September 13, 1994, the City Council
of Carlsbad voted unanimously to accept and implement the Coastal Commission modifications associated
with the Commission’s May 12, 1994 approval of LCPA 91-02. As required, this foml City Council
action has taken place within six months of the date of your letter dated June 8, 1994 which contained
the Commission’s modifications for the City’s review and acceptance. All text changes to the master plan
and the LCP required by the Commission’s modifications will be made immediately by the City. As is
standard with most City Council actions, the vote and approval involves the preparation of approving
documents by the City Attorney which will return to the Council for adoption. These documents will
return to the City Council by the September 27, 1994 meeting and will be sent to you after being signed.
Given the Council action of September 13, 1994, the City’s governing body has taken action to accept and
implement the Commission’s modifications to help effectuate a certified LCP in accordance with your June
8 letter.
The City understands that this item is part of the Coastal Commission hearings and agenda for September
16, 1994, and will allow Kaiza‘s Coastal Development Permit application to be considered by the
Commission. If I or the City can be of any further assistance in the certification or implementation of the
West Batiquitos Lagoon LCP, please contact me at 438-1 161 extension 4441.
