SUBJECT APPLICATION FOR A LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM AMENDMENT
LCPA 95-03 - AVIARA LCP AMENDMENT FOR PA’S 7’13’15 AND 28
Dear Deborah:
Enclosed is the City of Carlsbad’s completed application to amend its Local Coastal
Program for the Aviara Master Plan planning areas noted above. Specifically, this LCP
amendment will recognize three previously approved minor master plan amendments that
did not concurrently process amendments to the LCP. An LCP amendment is needed in
these cases since the implementing ordinance for the LCP area (Aviara Master Plan) was
amended. This amendment to the LCP is proposed to maintain consistency between the
City’s General Plan, zoning oridinance and LCP/coastal regulations. The three previously
approved minor master plan amendments are noted below:
MP 177(J) - Affects PA 28/City approval on March 7, 1995
MP 177(M) - Affects PA 15/City approval on February 7, 1995
MP 177(N) - Affects PA’s 7 and 13/City approval on May 17, 1995
The support documentation specified on the application checklist is enclosed. If additional
information is needed or questions arise regarding the application, please contact me at 438-
1161 extension 4441. If this LCPA can not be batched with the Aviara Four Seasons Resort
LCPA, please return this application package so that the City may resubmit with other
pending LCPA’s.
