PUBLIC NOTICE
TO INTERESTED PARTIES:
Please be advised that the City of Carlsbad is considering a text amendment to the Village
Redevelopment (Village Design Manual) segment of its Local Coastal Program (LCP) as
summarized below. The proposed amendment was submitted by a project applicant and is
presently under review. This notice hereby opens a six-week review period after which the
Housing and Redevelopment Commission will consider all comments and act on the proposed
amendments. The Housing and Redevelopment Commission LCP Amendment hearing is
expected to take place in September, 1995 and will be duly noticed.
Copies of the proposed LCP amendment are available for review at the Planning Department,
2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92009.
PROPOSED LCP AMENDMENT SUMMARY
LCPA 95-Oq- CARLSBAD BY THE SEA LUTHERAN HOME
The proposed text amendment is limited to Section XII, Standards for Sub-Area 5, pages 19 and
20 of the Village Design Manual LCP. In conjunction with the proposed redevelopment of the
Carlsbad by the Sea Lutheran Home which consists of an intensification and expansion of the
existing facility but involves no change in use, text will be added to exempt the Carlsbad by the
Sea Lutheran Home from the LCP requirement that the entire ground floor of all projects in Sub-
Area 5 shall be devoted to visitor commercial uses.
