Re: Certification of Carlsbad Major LCP Amendment 2-99C (DeJo
Dear Mr. Neu
On October 14,1999, the California Coastal Commission approved the above-described
amendment request. In its action, the Commission certified the request to amend the
City's certified implementing ordinances (municipal code). Specifically, the amendment
included a change to the certified Mello II (LCP) segment to rezone a 33.4-acre parcel
(De Jong) from Limited Control to One-Family Residential (R-1-7,500-Q) and Open
space.
Since the amendment request was intended to take effect automatically upon Commission
certification, and the Commission certified the amendment as submitted (without any
suggested modifications or other terms), there is no Mer action necessary for the local
government. If you have any questions about the Commission's action, please contact
Bill Ponder in our office. Thank you and the other staff members who worked on this
planning effort. We remain available to assist you and your staff in any way possible to
continue efforts towards successful implementation of the local coastal program.
