Chris - per the attached copy of the application review letter issues of concern,
enclosed are three full-size sets of revised plans and information depicting the
following requested changes:
1. Attached is a copy of the email I received from Lori Swenck
authorizing the continued processing of our MCUP.
2. The vicinity map has been revised to a more detailed level.
3. Sprint/Nextel confirms that the only antennas on-site and/or proposed
are for our network operations only and do not include third party
antennas.
4. Information for the stored battery system is noted on Sheet A-4.

SUBJECT: MCUP 06-10 - CALAVERA HILLS COMMUNITY PARK WCF
Thank you for applying for Land Use Permits in the City of Carlsbad. The Planning Department
has reviewed your Minor Conditional Use Permit, application no. MCUP 06-10, as to its
completeness for processing.
The application is complete, as submitted. Although the initial processing of your application
may have already begun, the technical acceptance date is acknowledged by the date of this
communication. The City may, in the course of processing the application, request that you
clarify, amplify, correct, or otherwise, supplement the basic information required for the
application. In addition, you should also be aware that various design issues may exist. These
issues must be addressed before this application can be scheduled for a hearing. The Planning
Department will begin processing your application as of the date of this communication.
At this time, the City asks that you provide 3 complete sets of the development plans so that the
project can continue to be reviewed.

wish to set up a meeting to discuss the application.

ISSUES OF CONCERN
Planning:
1. The City has concerns with the potential for impacts to the park and rented facilities.
Please contact Lori Swenck in the Recreation Department at 760-602-4649 to
coordinate and to resolve any construction impact issues.
Engineering:
1. Revise the vicinity map to make clearer and accurate.
2. Under project data, add that two new Nextel antennas are proposed in addition to the
equipment building alterations. Be aware that only Sprint/Nextel Communications
equipment is permitted per the lease agreement with the City. If any antennas or
equipment for a company other than Sprint/Nextel Communications are proposed, a
separate or amended lease agreement will be required by the City per the terms of the
current lease agreement. The proposed Nextel antennas as shown on the plan are
acceptable.
Fire:
1. If a stored battery system is on the site, please provide the fluid type and capacity.

COMPLETNESS AND ISSUES REVIEW
Engineering Department staff has completed a review of the above-referenced project
