The residents who have signed below live near or adjacent to
the subject property and object to the master plan amendment
(MP-149G) for the following reasons.
1. This new plan eliminates approximately 18 acres of open
space and increases density by approximately 3 percent.
We feel open space is Important to this area of Carlsbad
and 18 acres of open space should be added to sections
NW 4, 8, 9, 10, and 11. These sections border the current
houses in the area. In these sections there are numerous
canyons, ponds and hills that would lend itself to opMi
space and are currently not buildable. If increased density
is needed by the developer we suggest it be put along
El Camino Real where there is currently high density with
numerous condominiums.
2. As this is a large section of property, the improvements of
which will effect more than just the people within 300
feet of the property, we feel the notice of the change of
the master plan should be given to all residents of La Costa
"Carlsbad" and the information should be made available to
anyone that is interested. Also, your decision should be
delayed sufficent time so that the residents of the area
can provide intelligent imput to the Planning Commission.

RE: La Costa Master Plan Amendment Northwest Area
Gentlemen:
We have reviewed the proposed changes set forth in the proposed amendment
to the existing Master Plan (MP-149-E), approved by City Council Ordinance
No. 9570, dated December 16, 1980. We find no objections from the San Marcos
Unified School District standpoint.
However, this development and others already approved will have a negative
impact on the ability of San Marcos Unified School District to provide
facilities for the students generated by this development.
The school district will need assistance in providing school facilities for
these students. Therefore a fee of $528 per bedroom to a maximum of $1,584
for a single family dwelling unit and $288 per bedroom to a maximum of $576
for an attached dwelling unit will be assessed at the time building permits
are issued.
With the payment of those fees the impact will be mitigated and the school
district will be able to provide the facilities necessary to house these
students.
