Dear Larry,
Per your request, I am forwarding copies of the General Plan and Open Space Maps on ,
which the property adjacent to Lots 26 & 27 in the Carlsbad Oaks Business Center is
designated as open space. This area is environmentally constrained due to sensitive
vegetation and steep slopes.
As a result of the City's Interim Open Space Ordinance, NS-127, no development may be
approved that would decrease this size or diminish the environmental quality of open space
without required findings specified by the ordinance.
It is also important to note that prior to any development north of the existing lots in the
Carlsbad Oaks Business Center, a General Plan Amendment and Specific Plan Amendment
will be required. The Specific Plan SP 200 currently identifies the area north of the
existing lots in Carlsbad Oaks Business Center as open space.
