ISSUES OF CONCERN
PLANNING:
1. The Planning Department calculates parking space demand for a project by gross
floor area, which constitutes the area within the building walls, including storage
and utility areas, stairways, elevators, corridors, bathrooms, and crawl spaces,
therefore, the storage areas and the first floor area of the elevator must be counted
in the square footage totals for the proposed building addition. The requested
building addition (approximately 610 square feet) would create the demand for 3
additional onsite parking spaces, based on the City's Parking Ordinance
requirement of one (1) parking space per every 250 square feet of gross floor area
for research and development land use.
