SANDAG staff have reviewed the three development proposals. The proposed sites are located
within the McClellan-Palomar Airport Influence Area. All the sites are within the 65
Community Noise Equivalent Level (CNEL) noise contour.
SANDAG’s Airport Land Use Commission rules and regulations authorize staff to make a
determination if the proposal is compatible with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The
following comment has not been reviewed by the SANDAG Board of Directors serving as the
region’s Airport Land Use Commission.
The proposed projects area compatible land uses with the McClellan-Palomar
Comprehensive Land Use Plan if the property owners execute an avigation easement
with the City of Carlsbad and the County of San Diego. The purpose of the
easement is to notify the property owner that the site is within the 65 Community
Noise Equivalent Level and will be impacted by overflight activity from the airport.
