Improvements to Palomar Airport Road and Yarrow Drive
Dear Jack McRoskey:
Pursuant to your recent letter dated 1 1-30-98 and following up to our meeting on
December 3d, we will revise condition number 18 and also number 71-3. The condition for
“Future Improvement” is not necessary as the City is under construction for this frontage. The
condition for sidewalk on Yarrow Drive may also have an easy solution.
Per our discussion yesterday, Galen Peterson has calculated the 50% share of median
improvements along your project frontage. I have attached these figures to this memo for your
review. The total cost for 1/2 median improvements is $23,105.63.
The condition regarding sidewalk improvements along Yarrow Drive can be resolved by
a simple agreement. !f the contractor from the Palomar Airport project concurs, then the
additional sidewalk (along Yarrow Drive from Palomar Airport Road to the south west corner of
this project) can be constructed as part of the same right of way permit, in compliance with
Regional Standards and in conjunction with the City project. A separate drawing for
sidewalk is not necessary if constructed in conjunction with the adjacent project. The cost of
sidewalk and driveway on Yarrow Drive will be paid by you directly to the contractor. We will
require proof of this private agreement and proof of payment . The median amount will be a
separate cost and will be paid to the City as a reimbursement.
In closing, I will wait to here from you regarding negotiation with the contractor. The
conditions of approval from Engineering department will be revised and forwarded to Brian
