SUBJECT: PIP 99-02 - CARLSBAD SELF-STORAGE
The City has completed a review of the application for a Planned Industrial Permit
for development located on the south side of Palomar Airport Road east of Yarrow
Drive.
It is the Planning Director's determination that the project is consistent with the
City's Planned Industrial Zone regulations (Chapter 21.34) and with all other
applicable City ordinances and policies. The Planning Director, therefore, approves
this request based on the following:
Findinas:
1. The site indicated by the Planned Industrial Permit is adequate in size and
shape to accommodate the proposed use, and all yards, spaces, walls,
fences, parking, loading, landscaping and other features required by Chapter
2 1.34.
2. The improvements indicated on the Planned Industrial Permit are located in
such a manner to be related to existing and proposed streets and highways.
3. The improvements as shown on the Planned Industrial Permit are consistent
with the intent and purpose of this zone and all adopted development, design
and performance standards as set forth in this chapter.
Conditions:
1. Approval is granted for PIP 99-02 as shown on Exhibits "A" - "M", dated
March 15, 2000, on file in the Planning Department and incorporated herein

by reference. Development shall occur substantially as shown unless
otherwise noted in these conditions.
2. All of the conditions of approval of CUP 99-08 (Carlsbad Self-storage)
contained in Planning Commission Resolution No. 4726 dated March 15,
2000, are incorporated herein by reference.
3. A sign permit is required for any sign, and each sign shall be consistent with
a unified sign program which has been reviewed and approved by the
Planning Director.
4. Each lease shall prohibit: a) the storage of hazardous materials; and b) the
storage of materials within two (2) feet of the ceiling.
