RE: PS 00-83 - PALOMAR HEIGHTS PLAZA SIGN PROGRAM
Dear Jackie :
I have reviewed the sign program application for the Palomar Heights Plaza project, which was prepared
by Hansen Associates. I have been waiting until the new sign ordinance was about to be approved, as it
will allow more signage than the existing. Although the new one may allow more signs, there are some
signs proposed on the plan that exceed what will be allowed.
1. The monument sign can only be 35 square feet in size with a maximum height of five feet.
Presently proposed is one 52 square foot sign with a height of four feet. The new provisions will
allow two entry signs at the above-mentioned size.
2. The maximum sign area per building is 50 square feet. Presently, some of the buildings, which
face Palomar Airport Road and the parking lot, have the potential to exceed the 50 square foot
maximum.

The maximum logo heightlwidth is 24/36 inches, and six square feet. Proposed is 16 square feet.
The maximum letter height of tenant names on the south elevations is flinches where 30 inches
is proposed.

5. The maximum size of the vinyl entry graphics is limited to five square feet with six-inch letters.
Please find attached a copy of the proposed sign ordinance for your use. Please revise the sign program
and resubmit two copies of the plan back to me.
