All plans submitted for sign permits/sign programs shall consist of a minimum of a site plan and sign
elevations containing the following information:
1. North arrow and scale.
2. Location of existing buildings or structures, parking areas, and vehicular access points to the
property.
3. Location of all existing and proposed signs for the property.
4. Distance to the property line(s) for all proposed freestanding sign(s).
5. Provide an elevation for all proposed sign(s) which specifies the following:
A. Dimensions and area for all existing and proposed sign(s).
B. Materials the sign(s) will be constructed of,
C. Source of Illumination,
D. Proposed sign copy.
APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT THREE (3) SETS OF SIGN/SITE PLANS, A COMPLETED
APPLICATION FORM, AND THE APPLICATION FEE.
The application musf be submitted prior to 4:00 p.m. Average processing time: 2 weeks

SUBJECT: PS 05-04 - LOKER BUSINESS PARK
Dear Barbara,
I have reviewed the Loker Business Park sign program and have made comments that must be
addressed before the program can be considered for approval by the Planning Department.
The comments reflect the proposed sign program's consistency with the City's adopted sign
ordinance and are shown on the enclosed marked version of the draft sign program. The Sign
Ordinance is also attached with those sections highlighted that apply to this property.
The most significant issues are:
1) Each tenant or building is allowed only one wall sign.
2) Maximum area for wall and monument signs is 50 square feet.
Please revise the sign program to be consistent with the City of Carlsbad Sign Ordinance and
resubmit.

zone. The sign program language that states on several pages "plus one (1) per secondary
public entrances" has to be removed.
Page 7b is redundant. Is there a need to keep it?
The tenant ID building sign shown on the west side of the multi-tenant building has to be
removed. (Page 11)
The monument sign on page 8 has to be limited in overall size to 50 square feet. The overall
size includes the stone base. The monument must also include the project address. Because
the address must be included on a monument, it will have to be relocated to a Loker Avenue
West position.
Please revise the sign program to be consistent with the City of Carlsbad Sign Ordinance and
resubmit.
