Dear Andrew,
Please accept this letter of approval from the Board of the Faraday Spectrum
Owners Association for the proposed building signage for Dexter Wilson
Engineering, Inc. at 2234 Faraday Avenue Carlsbad, CA 92008. Please note that the
Board approval is based on the Sign Package dated 9.29.2007. In the event that the,
the Master Association and or City of Carlsbad disapprove the proposed signage
design, and a revised submittal is required, the Board will need to review the
revised submittal as well.

Dear Ms. Ellis:
The Aichitectural Review Committee (ARC) of the Carlsbad Research Center (CRC) has
reviewed the sign plans proposed for Dexter Wilson Engineeiing, Inc., located at 2234 Faraday
Avenue, in the Faraday Spectrum development. This sign was not approved as originally
submitted because the Faraday Spectrum Owner's Association had not established a Sign
Program consistent with the Design Guidelines (DGs) of the CRC.
In March of 2009 the Faraday Spectrum Owner's Association approved and fonvarded a revised
Sign Program that was consistent with the DGs of the CRC. The revised program establishes
uniform letter lieigiit, font, color and location for all signage in the Faraday Spectnnn Planned
Unit Development (PUD). The revised Sign Program requires all signs in the Faraday
Spectrum to meet the following requirements:
1. All signs must face the interior of the PUD.
2. Lighting Is optional
3. Maximum letter height is 12-iuches.
4. Maximum text length is 25-feet.
5. Maximum sign area is 25-squaie feet
6. Signs must be aluminum with a clear finish
7. Signs must be peg mounted
8. A single door sigji at entrance is allowed. It is limited to 6-inch tall lettering, that is no
more than 6 feet in length
9. All signs must be approved by the CRC ARC on a case by case basis.
The attached sign evaluation matrix demonstrates that the Dexter Wilson Engineering sign as
proposed is completely consistent with the Design Guidelines ofthe CRC and the revised Sign
Program of the Faraday Spectrum Owner's Association, therefore the proposed plans are
considered APPROVED.
