RE: PS 92-112 - CHEVRON STATION SIGN PERMIT AT PEA SOUP ANDERSON’S
This letter is intended to confirm your phone conversation with David Rick of our
department regarding the two “price signs” for Pea Soup’s Chevron Station. As you are
aware, the sign permits were issued in error based on inadequate information shown on
the plans. We would like to correct the situation as quickly as possible so that you may
install the signs at approved locations.
As you can see from the attached memo faxed to you on February 9, 1993, the sign
located on Paseo del Norte creates a sight distance hazard for cars exiting the site and
must be relocated to the west at least 20’ back from the curb. The submitted plans failed

alternative sites for the sign. The setbacks and visibility issues at the corner of Palomar
Airport Road and Paseo del Norte are complex due to the bridge and road widening
project.
