POLICY NO: 29 EFFECTIVE DATE: March 2, 1994 PLANNING DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY FREESTANDING MENU (MULTI-TENANT IDENTIFICATION) SIGNS WITHIN NEW SHOPPING/OFFICE CENTERS As of the effective date of this policy; each office/shopping center monument or freestanding sign approved under a sign program shall contain no more than the following information: 1. the name of the Center; 2. the address number(s) of the Center; and 3. the identification of 4 or less tenants in the Center. Existing shopping centers without sign programs (as well as amendments to sign programs) approved prior to the effective date of this policy, shall be exempt from the above requirements. Freestanding menu and directional signs intended for motorists and pedestrians already in the center, and which are not visible to traffic on street frontages, shall also be exempt. No sians are exemot from the Sian Ordinance or any other applicable City adopted standards (i.e. El Camino Real Corridor Development Standards).
