Dear Sir or Madam:
Our records indicate that you were issued Pennit #98-75 for an A-Frame Sign that is
located in the public right-of-way. A requirement of the permit is that the City of
Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency be listed as Additional Insured on
your insurance policy. The most recent certificate of insurance on file expires or expired
on (no certificate on file). If the certificate of insurance on file has not yet expired,
please ask your insurance provider to ensure that a new certificate is sent to us upon
renewal. If there is no certificate of insurance on file or if it has expired, please submit a
current certificate of insurance within ten days (10). If a current certificate of insurance
is not received by the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency, your permit may be revoked
and/or the A-Frame Sign may be confiscated by Code Enforcement.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. If you need further information or
need assistance, please give me a call at (760) 434-2812.
Sincerely
Linda Holmes

Re: Approval of Amended Sidewalk Sign Permit
Dear Kirsten:
Thank you for submitting plans showing the new design oif your sidewalk sign. Instead of
issuing you a new Sidewalk Sign Permit, we are going to amend your old permit to show the
new sign. I have attached a copy of the original site plan showing the approved location of the
sidewalk sign. Please note, a minimum of 5 feet of clearance must be maintained between the
building and sidewalk sign at all times.
Your permit allows you to retain your sign for; 1) as long as the Housing and Redevelopment
Commission allows sidewalk signs to remain, 2) as long as the sign continues to meet the
standards outlined within the Carlsbad Village Master Plan and Design Manual, and 3) as long
as the sign is consistent with this permit approval. It is important to note that the Housing and
Redevelopment Commission will complete an annual review of the sidewalk sign regulations to
determine their continued applicability. A valid Certificate of Insurance is required for as long as
the A-Frame sign continues to be placed within the public right-of-way. Most importantly, the
sign must be placed as shown on the approved site plan.
If you should have any questions regarding the information contained in this letter, please call
me at (760) 434-2813.
Sincerely,
CITY OFCARLSBAD
