NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
KFC/TACO BELL REBUILD
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Design Review Board of the City of Carlsbad will
hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive,
Carlsbad, California, at 6:00 PM on Monday, August 27, 2001, to consider staff's
recommendation for a denial of Major Redevelopment Permit (RPOO-17) and Coastal
Development Permit (CDPOO-51) to allow the demolition and reconstruction of the existing
KFC/Taco Bell fast food restaurant and drive-thru facility located at 745 Carlsbad Village
Drive.
The proposed project is located on the southeast corner of Carlsbad Village Drive and
Madison Street in Land Use District No. 1 of the Carlsbad Village Redevelopment Area
(Assessor Parcel Number 203-351-18-00).
Those persons wishing to speak on this proposal are cordially invited to attend the public
hearing. Copies of the staff report will be available on August 22, 2001. If you have any
questions or would like a copy of the staff report, please contact Lori Rosenstein in the
Housing and Redevelopment Department at (760) 434-2813. You may also provide your
comments in writing to the Housing and Redevelopment Department at 2965 Roosevelt
Street, Suite B, Carlsbad, CA 92008.
Because staff is recommending denial of the project, there has been no environmental
review completed for this project.
If you challenge the Major Redevelopment Permit and Coastal Development Permit in
court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the
public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City of
Carlsbad at or prior to the public hearing.

City of Carlsbad will hold a Public Hearing in the City Council Chambers, 1200 Carlsbad
Village Drive, Carlsbad, California, at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2002, to consider
approval of a Major Predevelopment Permit (RPOO-17) and Coastal Development Permit
(CDPOO-51) to allow the demolition and reconstruction of the existing KFC/Taco Bell fast
food restaurant and drive-thru facility located at 745 Carlsbad Village Drive. The
