COAL (CARLSBAD OCEANSIDE ART LEAGUE) OUTDOOR ART MART
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Design Review Board of the City of Carlsbad will hold a
Public Hearinq in the City Council Chambers, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad,
California, at 6:00 pm on Monday, May 24, 2004, to consider approval of a Minor
Redevelopment Permit (RP 02-40) and Coastal Development Permit (CDP02-39) to allow a
weekly art display/show to be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and
Sunday on the lawn area in front of the Carlsbad Inn at 3045 Carlsbad Boulevard in District 9
of the Carlsbad Village Redevelopment Area.
The proposed project is located on the west side of Carlsbad Boulevard between Carlsbad
Village Drive and Oak Avenue in Land Use District No. 9 of the Carlsbad Village
Redevelopment Area (Assessor Parcel Numbers 203-252-04).
Those persons wishing to speak on this proposal are cordially invited to attend the public
hearing. If you have any questions or would like a copy ofthe staff report, please contact Craig
Ruiz in the Housing and Redevelopment Department at (760) 434-2810. You may also provide
your comments in writing to the Housing and Redevelopment Department at 2965 Roosevelt
Street, Suite B, Carlsbad, CA 92008.

and the Environmental Protection Ordinance of the City of Carlsbad, the Planning Department
has determined that the project is categorically exempt from the requirement for preparation of
environmental documents pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) which states that where it can be
seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the proposed project in question has the
potential to have a significant adverse effect on the environment, the activity is not subject to
CEQA. The Design Review Board will be considering approval of the environmental
determination during the public hearing.
