NOTICE OF INTENDED ACTION

Date of Notice: June 16, 2005
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Housing and Redevelopment Director of the City of Carlsbad intends
to APPROVE an Administrative Redevelopment Permit (RP04-15) for the Friedrich's Remodel located at
3160 Roosevelt Street. The property is located on the east side of Roosevelt Street in between Oak
Avenue and Pine Avenue. The assessor parcel number is 204-084-11. The proposed project is not
located within the Coastal Zone.
The applicant is requesting an Administrative Redevelopment Permit to convert a 360 square foot garage
on the east end of the property to livable space, add an additional 424 square feet of livable space to the
east and southwest of the existing residence, and construct a 561 square foot garage. The Design of the
proposed addition will be consistent with the existing single family home.
Those persons wishing to comment on the proposed project and intended action by the Housing and
Redevelopment Director are cordially invited to submit written comments or contact the Housing and
Redevelopment Department by 5:00pm on June 27, 2005. If you have comments on the proposed project
and intended action, please contact Cliff Jones in the Housing and Redevelopment Department at (760)
434-2813 or (760) 434-2810. You may also provide your comments in writing to the Housing and
Redevelopment Department at 2965 Roosevelt Street, Suite B, Carlsbad, CA 92008.
NOTICE IS HEREBY ALSO GIVEN that the Housing & Redevelopment Department has determined that
the project is exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per
Section 15301 of the State CEQA Guidelines as a minor alteration of a private structure involving a
negligible expansion of use. Appropriate documentation will be filed by the City of Carlsbad's Housing &
Redevelopment Department.
