Re: Sidewalk Sign
Dear Ms. Taylor:
It has recently been brought to our attention that there is a sidewalk/freestanding
sign located in front of your business and two pennant flags both of which are not
permitted. Our records show that your business was previously approved to have
one sidewalk sign/freestanding sign of 15 square feet, which is shaped like a house
per Redevelopment Permit 04-22. Prior to the installation or change of any signage,
an approved sign permit is required. Please contact our office for sign permit
information and prior to installing new signage to your building. Until then, please
remove the sign and two pennant flags.
As a courtesy to you, I am sending you this letter before this becomes a code
enforcement issue. If you have any questions regarding the information contained

Re: Approval of Sidewalk Sign Permit
Dear Ms. Taylor:
Thank you for submitting your application for a Sidewalk Sign Permit. Having received all
required documents your application has been approved. Attached is a copy of the approved
Sidewalk Sign Permit for your records.
The attached permit allows you to retain your sign for; 1) as long as the Housing and
Redevelopment Commission allows sidewalk signs to remain, 2) as long as the sign continues
to meet the standards outlined within the Carlsbad Village Master Plan and Design Manual, and
3) as long as the sign is consistent with this permit approval. It is important to note that the
Housing and Redevelopment Commission will complete an annual review of the sidewalk sign
regulations to determine their continued applicability.

RE: Beach Scene Mural located on the south wall of 2564 Carlsbad Blvd.
Dear Robin,
Thank you for submitting the beach scene mural plan to our office for review.
The purpose for this letter is to inform you that our office has approved the mural
plan that was submitted on September 13, 2004. In addition, I wanted to inform
you that no signage shall be included or permitted in the mural. Also, for any
future proposed changes to the approved mural, a written amendment to the
approved mural plan shall be required and submitted to our office for approval
and prior to making the changes.
