SUBJECT: RP 83-13 ROBCO - Request for approval of a minor
Redevelopment Permit to construct a 1250 square foot
accessory building at 2531 State Street.
I. RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Design Review Board ADOPT Resolution
No. 024 APPROVING RP 83-13 based on the findings contained
therein.
II. DISCUSSION
The applicant is requesting approval of a minor Redevelopment
Permit to construct a 1250 square foot storage building located
as described above. There is an existing office building and
body shop located on the project site. The applicant proposes
to construct the storage building to the rear of the lot away
from the existing buildings.
The project site is located in Sub-area 3 of the Village
Redevelopment Area. The goal of this area is to maximize the
established pattern of development north of Grand. The proposed
storage building would not contradict this goal.
The proposed storage building would not constitute a change in
use nor create a demand for additional parking facilities.
Staff believes that the proposal is consistent with the goal and
objectives of the Village Design Manual, therefore, staff
recommends approval of RP 83-13.
III. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The Land Use Planning Manager has determined that this project is
categorically exempt from environmental review according to the
Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 19.04.070 (5)(C).
