SUBJECT: RP 83-14 - MC LAIN PROPERTIES - Request for approval of
a Minor Redevelopment Permit to install improvements to
an existing building located at 2715 Carlsbad
Boulevard.
I. RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Design Review Board ADOPT Resolution
No. 026 APPROVING RP 83-14, based on the findings contained
therein. The applicant is requesting approval of a Minor
Redevelopment Permit to install tenant improvements in a building
located as described above. No major exterior improvements are
proposed.
II. DISCUSSION
The project site is located in Sub-Area 5 of the Village
Redevelopment area. The goal of this area is to a major
tourist/tourist commercial related center for the redevelopment
project area. The proposed improvements would not contradict
this goal.
The proposed tenant improvements would not constitute a change in
use nor create a demand for additional parking facilities. Staff
believes that the proposal is consistent with the goal and
objectives of the Village Design Manual, therefore. Staff
recommends approval of RP 83-14.
Ill. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The Land Use Planning Manager has determined that this project
is categorically exempt from Environmental Review according to
the Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 19.04.070(1)
