Re: 3021 Jefferson St.
Dear Mr. Mata,
As you know I have been endeavoring to get the house
located at 3021 Jefferson St. ready to open as an office on
Monday, January 18, 1988. Since that address was previously
used to house a tool company, owned by Steve Kerr, I was
under the Impression that the edifice was set up for
commercial use. When I spoke to SDG&E they told me the
difference between residential and commercial use was in the
billing, not the wiring.
I understand, from our conversation, that there are
certain requirements to be met for an office, i.e., a
handicap ramp, parking, bathroom facilities, etc.
I have spoken to the owner of Cliffs Pantry, who has
given me right-of-way to use the adjoining parking lot. My
peak hours are from 4-6 pm and the restaurant is closed at
2:30 daily, avoiding a conflict in parking space use.
I wi11 provide a handicap ramp as soon as can be
arranged for. I wi11 have the electrical work done to your
specifications, which I thought I was doing presently. I
will comply with any other reasonable requests that the
City has.
The phone company has arranged to turn on the phones
on Monday, equipment is presently being delivered to the
office and rent begins on January 16. If I cannot open the
office on Monday I will be without a place to work and an
income. I implore you to help in what looks like a hopeless
situation at this time. I understand that the redevelopment
committee meets on February 3, which will be much to late to
help. Anything you can do will be sincerely appreciated.
My thanks in advance.
Respectifully submitted,
