The above referenced application has been on file for six months (December 11, 1991 to June
11,1992). Notification was given on January 7,1992 that the application was incomplete, along
with a list of items/information needed to complete the application, and a notice that failure to
resubmit the application or to submit the materials necessary to determine your application
complete shall be deemed to constitute withdrawal of the application.
The application Is still incomplete. As a result, this letter is notification to you that RP 91 -10 has
been withdrawn per Chapter 21.54.010 of the Carlsbad Municipal Zoning Ordinance:
"When a determination that an initial application is incomplete has been
transmitted to the applicant, the applicant shall have six months from the date the
application was initially filed to either resubmit the application or submit the
information specified in the determination. Failure of the applicant to resubmit the
application or to submit the material in response to the determination within the
six months shall be deemed to constitute withdrawal of the application. If an
application is withdrawn or deemed withdrawn a new application must be
submitted."

SUBJECT: RP 91-10 - ALT KARLSBAD STORAGE
Dear Mrs. Christiansen:
On December 11,1991, an application was filed for a Redevelopment Permit for the above
referenced project. City staff reviewed the submittal and responded in a letter dated
January 7, 1992 (copy attached). As we indicated in that letter, the project must be
deemed complete by six months from the date of filing. Since no further submittals have
been received, staff wanted to remind you of this pending expiration date of June 11,

SUBJECT: RP 91-10 - ALT KARLSBAD STORAGE ^
Thank you for applying for Land Use Pennits in the City of Carlsbad. The Planning Department
has reviewed your Redevelopment Pennit, application no. RP 91-10, as to its completeness for
processing.
The application is incomplete, as submitted. Attached are two lists. The first list is information
which must be submitted to complete your application. All list items must be submitted
simultaneously at the Commumty Development Building counter and a copy of this list must be
included with your submittals. No processing of your application can occur until the application
is determined to be complete. The second list is issues of concem to staff. When all required
materials are submitted the City has 30 days to make a determination of completeness. If the
application is determined to be complete, processing for a decision on the application will be
initiated. In addition, please note that you have six months from the date the application was
initially filed, December 11, 1991, to either re-submit the application or submit the required
information. Failure to resubmit the application or to submit the materials necessary to determine
your application complete shall be deemed to constitute withdrawal of the application. If an
application is v^thdrawn or deemed withdrawn, a new application must be submitted.

UST OF TTEMS NEEDED
TO COMPLETE APPUCATION:
No. RP 91-10
PLANNING:
1. The site plan shows the owner as Catherine Christiansen, and the tax assessors records
show Catheryn F. Christiansen Family Trust. The ownership shown must be correct and
consistent.
2. The application was signed "Catheryn F. Christiansen Trust." This should be the signature
of a person, such as trustee, for the Catheryn F. Christiansen Family Trust.
3. The disclosure statement signatures must also be corrected. The Catheryn F. Christiansen
Trust is shown as the owner and as the applicant. The signature, however, is "Catheryn F.
Christiansen." The signatures should also include "Trustee."
4. The name of the appUcant must appear on the site plan.
5. The site plan must contain the following information: the project name (Alt Karlsbad
Storage) and application number (RP 91-10); name of sewer, water, and school districts;
existing land use(s) (e.g., gift shop, etc.); total builduig coverage; percent landscaping;
number of parking spaces required and provided; average daily traffic (broken down by use
type).
ENGINEERING:
1. A titie report must be provided.
2. The traffic ADT must be provided.
3. Plans must identify the service agencies (sewer, school, water).
ISSUES OF CONCERN
PLANNING:
1. The location of the proposed storage building already contains two smaller buildings
currentiy used for storage. If you propose to continue using these two buildings for storage
in another location on the site, you must indicate on the plans where they will be relocated.
If not, confirm their removal.
2. Please indicate whether the need for additional storage is the result of an expansion of any
of the uses on the site or any proposed new use.
3. The zoning shown on the site plan (C-T) is incorrect. The zoiung on the site is V-R.
4. The Planning Department is checking on the status of any pennits for this site and the uses
on the site.
ENGINEERING:
1. The owner will be required to dedicate additional right-of-way (11 feet wide) on Carlsbad
Boulevard for public sidewalk for access easements.

APPLICATION COMMENTS ON RP 91-10 FOR ALT KARLSBAD STORAGE
The Redevelopment Office has no problems with the application
submitted by Catheryn F. Christiansen for a redevelopment permit
(91-10) to add a 400 sq.ft storage building onto her property at
2803 Carlsbad Boulevard as long as the building is used for
storage only.
Please forward a draft copy of your final application review
letter to my office prior to mailing it to the applicant. I would
like to review the planning and engineering comments prior to
distribution of the letter to the applicant.
