The CVBA requests your assistance in filing an amendment to Housing & Redevelopment Department Pemiit
#RP9405 fbr the fbllowing project The current Wednesday Farmers Market is a suooessful, and well-attended,
maricet The 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM hours work well fbr local, non-working residents and kxal business people who can
leave their businesses to come and purchase their weekly produce, etc However, there is a large segment of the
a>n¥minjly that we cannot aocximmodate. TheO^vvould Hke to request the addition of a second Fanners'Mark^
on Saturday nxxnlngs. In the same paridng kxatkm (on Roosevelt, between Carlsbad ViHage Drive and Grand
Avenue). TTiis second market would have the same corrfiguratton of certified farmers, food booths, plants sellers, etc.
on Saturday mornings betvveen 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
Because we are requesting that we add a second Farmers' Maricet on a different day and time, in the same kxatkm,
we would need to request revised signage In the parking tot to indkate the times fbr both market days. According to
the current permit, the hours stated fbr the Wednesday Farmers' Maricet are from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The penmit
also states that the paridng kit Is reserved fbr the Wednesday Farmers' Maricet from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The signs
In the paridng tot, however, state that the paricing tot is reserved fbr the Farmers' Market from 12:00 noon to 7:00
PM. Because there are so many diffierent time spans stated on the permit we wouto Hke to request that the new
signs read as fbltows:

Cynthia Bueker, the current Wednesday Farmers' Maricet manager wiU manage both of the Farmers' Markets. Our
intentton Is to continue to have a successful, and well-attended, maricet and to extend that quality Into the Saturday
Maricet It is already a tradltton that many reskJents of Carlsbad and North County come to the Village fbr breakfast
on Saturday mornings. Having this market on Saturdays wouto offer working residents an opportuntty to shop at the
Fanmers' Market, sirxDe the Wednesday market occurs during business hours. It is also an opportunity to bring more
restoents into the Village to shop, whkrh wcxjto be a win-win for everyone.
