ADDITION OF SIDEWALK CAFE TO EXISTING COFFEE HOUSE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Housing and Redevelopment Director of the City of Carlsbad has
made a final decision to APPROVE an Administrative Redevelopment Permit (S-RP 97-02) for installation
of tables and chairs for a Sidewalk Cafe at the Starbucks Coffee House, 2924 Carlsbad Boulevard, which
is located on the east side of Carlsbad Boulevard between Grand Avenue and Carlsbad Village Drive. The
assessor parcel number is 203-174-04 and 05. The Housing and Redevelopment Director has determined
that the proposed project does meet all applicable development standards and is consistent with the
Village Master Plan and Design Manual.
The applicant for the administrative redevelopment permit is Starbucks Coffee Company.
The permit will allow for installation of a maximum of 16 seats outside the existing facility, with
approximately 5 of these seats actually located within the public right-of-way. The seats shall be placed
in a manner which allows for a clear pedestrian area of at least 5 feet. This permit allows the applicant
to provide a total of 19 seats inside the subject coffee house and a maximum of 16 seats outside the
subject coffee house for a total seating capacity of 35.
If you wish to appeal the decision of the Housing and Redevelopment Director on this matter to the
Design Review Board, you must file a written appeal with the Housing and Redevelopment Department
within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this decision/notice. The written appeal must be submitted
no later than 5:00pm on January 19, 1998. Appeal forms are available at the Housing and
Redevelopment Department located at 2965 Roosevelt Street, Suite B. If you have any questions
