NOTICE OF FINAL ACTION
ARMY & NAVY ACADEMY
ADDITION OF TWO MODULAR CLASSROOMS
2585 CARLSBAD BLVD., CARLSBAD, CA.
Date of Notice: August 17, 1999
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Housing and Redevelopment Director of the City of Carlsbad has
made a final decision to conditionally APPROVE an Administrative Redevelopment Permit (RP 99-12) for
the addition of two modular buildings to provide temporary classroom space for the Army and Navy
Academy located at 2585 Carlsbad Boulevard. Under the proposal, two modular buildings, measuring
24' X 40' and 24' x 60' respectively, will be added to the existing quad area on the south side of Pacific
Street, south of Dorman Hall. The modular buildings are intended to be used for additional classroonn
space for one year until a permanent dormitory is constructed to replace Dorman Hall, which was
previously damaged by fire.
The school is located along the east and west sides of Carlsbad Boulevard, north of Beech Avenue. The
subject permit shall serve as the required Coastal Development Permit as well as the required
Administrative Redevelopment Permit.
If you wish to appeal the decision of the Housing and Redevelopment Director on this matter to the
Design Review Board, you must file a written appeal with the Housing and Redevelopment Department
within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this decision/notice. The written appeal must be submitted
no later than 5:00pm on August 27, 1999. Appeal forms are available at the Housing and
Redevelopment Department located at 2965 Roosevelt Street, Suite B. If you have questions regarding

NOTICE IS HEREBY ALSO GIVEN that the Planning Department has determined that the project is exempt
from environmental review. Appropriate documentation for the "exemption" will be filed by the City of
Carlsbad Planning Department.

Redevelopment Department by 5:00pm on Friday, August 13, 1999. If you have comments on the

Department at (760) 434-2813 or (760) 434-2810. You may also provide your comments in writing to
the Housing and Redevelopment Department at 2965 Roosevelt Street, Suite B, Carlsbad, Ca. 92008.
