Dear Sir or Madam:
Our records indicate that you were issued Permit #97-30 for an A-Frame Sign that is
located in the public right-of-way. A requirement of the permit is that the City of
Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency be listed as Additional Insured on
your insurance policy. The most recent certificate of insurance on file expires or expired
on (no certificate on file). If the certificate of insurance on file has not yet expired,
please ask your insurance provider to ensure that a new certificate is sent to us upon
renewal. If there is no certificate of insurance on file or if it has expired, please submit a
current certificate of insurance within ten davs (10). If a current certificate of insurance
is not received by the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency, your permit may be revoked
and/or the A-Frame Sign may be confiscated by Code Enforcement.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. If you need further information or
need assistance, please give me a call at (760) 434-2812.
Sincerely

Subject: Application for Sidewalk Sign Permit
Dear Ms. Simkins:
Thank you for submitting your application for a Sidewalk Sign Permit. In reviewing the
site plan submitted with your application, the Sidewalk Sign for your business is located
in front of an adjacent business. The Carlsbad Village Master Plan requires that all
Sidewalk Signs be placed directly in front of the business to which they relate. Thus, in
order for application to be approved, you will need to relocate your sign and revise your
site plan accordingly.
Once the above information has been submitted, staff can then approve your application.
If you have any questions about the above information, please call me at (619) 434-2187.
Sincerely,
Craig D. Ruiz
