Description/Explanation:
A pushcart is a mobile retail merchandising unit approximately 1 0 feet X 10 fi~et in size
(see-attached photo). The pushcarts for Carlsbad Company Stores will be custom
designed to complement the existing architecture. Pushcarts are used to creab~ additional
synergy and excitement in common areas and walkways. Products typically sold include
impulse items such as souvenirs, candles, flowers, etc. Pushcarts do not geneJrate specific
trips to the center. They feed off existing traffic and enhance the tenant mix.
Implementation Plans:
Our plan is to begin with 6-8 pushcarts this coming holiday season. Our ultimate goal at
the completion of Phase lll of our development project is to feature 24 carts within the
project. The carts will be strategically located in common areas with ample room for
customer flow. Addition of the carts beyond the initial 6-8 will be phased in based on
demand from appropriate high quality retailers. See map attached which indicates
suggested locations for carts within the center.
Fees:
A check was previously written in the amount of $4,590 and is in your possession at this
time for all processing fees.

Proposed Project: Cart Program
Description: A pushcart is a mobile retail merchandising unit approximately
lO'xlO' in size (see attached photo). The pushcarts for
Carlsbad Company Stores will be custom designed to comple-
ment the existing architecture.
Pushcarts are used to create additional synergy and excitement
in common area walkways.
Products sold are typically impulse items like souvenirs,
candles, fl.owers,etc.
Pushcarts do not generate specific trips to the Center.
They feed off existing traffic!
Phasing: The Program will be implemented in phases beginning spring
1999. We will start with eight (8) carts.
If these carts are successful, we will add four more for the
holidays. In spring 2000 we will add four more carts and then
at the holidays another four. In 2001 if all is successful, we will
add four more throughout the year for a maximum amount of
24 carts. This should coincide with the completion of phase III
of the Center.
Fees: Enclosed is a check for $4590.00, the specified processing fee
per Gary Wayne's letter of 8/6/98.
