Description/Explanation: The existing floating dock system has run its life course and is in need of replacement. We intend to remove and replace the existing floating dock, gangway, pier, and stairs -LIKE FOR LIKE. There will be no change to the size, shape, or location of the floating dock system. Floating Dock -The existing locator pipes remain in good condition and will be reused in the same location. The floating dock will be manufactured using 4x6 framing with 5x5 angle clips and½" bolting throughout. There will be (2) ½" diameter steel torsion tubes built into fingers for long term stability and Super float flotation pontoons filled with Styrofoam. The decking will be 1x6 AZEK premium decking attached with stainless steel screws. In addition, we intend to install new steel pile guides with 4 polyurethane rollers each and (9) 14" cleats. Gangway -The gangway dimensions are 24x3. And, will be manufactured using (3) 2x12 strangers, and heavy duty hinge and axle wheel combination. The decking will be AZEK premium decking to match the floating dock, pier, and stairs. Pier -The new pier will have (2) new 8x10 legs. The existing concrete foundation remains in excellent condition and will be reused as a connection point for the new legs. The new pier will be manufactured using new 2x12 joists and 3x4 posts. The decking will be AZEK premium decking to match the floating dock, gangway, and stairs. Stairs -The stairs will be manufactured using (2) 4x12 stringers and (15) 2x14 stair treads. Each stair will have a 4" rise per step. The decking will be AZEK premium decking to match the floating dock, gangway, and pier. All of our manufacturing is done at our facility in Westminster. The parts are loaded on a trailer and towed to a public launch ramp nearby. The pieces are floated to the project site. The parts are connected together like a puzzle using pre-determined and pre-drilled holes and bolts. While securing the dock pieces together a catch bucket is used under each hardware location as a precaution. In addition, we will install a boom around the project site. The old dock is dismantled in the same, floated out, and returned to our facility in Westminster. Those parts which can be recycled are. All other parts are disposed of at an appropriate upland disposal site.
