Provide a parking area off the street on my property for newly purchased RV.
Due to limitations of existing block walls, concrete curbs, structure features and existing utility structures I'm unable to
park a newly purchased motorhome in my driveway or on the side or back yard of my property.I have sufficient
space to allow the RV to be parked on the north side of my lots front yard and allow 6 to 8 feet dear to the back of the
existing sidewalk. This will also reduce the amount of grass on my property thus reducing the amount of water
necessary to maintain it.
Parking area prep:
Remove sod, remove top soil to approximately 14" below existing grade. Install 6' of 3/4"rock, compacted with 4-6" of
compacted material such as decomposed granite or street base material. Place open cell block filled with compacted
decomposed granite to grade.Layers of materials to be separated by a fabric material allowing water to penetrate
but keeping the different types of materials separated and in place.

JUSTIFICATION FOR RV MINOR VARIANCE
An RV Minor Variance may be approved if the City Planner determines that access to the side or
rear yard cannot be provided.In order to approve the request, the City Planner shall be required to
make the following findings.Please read these carefully and explain how the proposed project meets
each of them.Use additional sheets if necessary.
1.Parking in or access to the side or rear yard would require one of more of the following:a)
extensive grading,b)structural alteration to the existing residence,or c) the removal of
significant or unique landscaping. A fence shall not be deemed to prevent access to the side
or rear yard.
Due to elevation difference between properties on the north, a block wall in the front starting
at the sidewalk stepping to approximently 2-1/2 feet was built 7-8 years ago. This wall extents to the
base of the slope in the back of the property. The space remaining between the chimney and
the face of the wall is 7'. The south side of the property has 8' of space between a concrete curb
separating properties. The south side also has a large CAN cabinet and the gas & elect. meters.
2.Parking of the recreational vehicle in the front yard would not interfere with visibility to or from
any street.
Kelly drive is a straight street and there would be 6 to 8 feet from the end of the RV to the back of
the sidewalk, allowing clear visibility up and down the street. There are no cross roads that would
be affected.
3.Parking of the recreational vehicle in the front yard would not interfere with traffic on the street
or sidewalk nor encroach into the street and utility right-of-way.
There is 38'-9" from the back of the side walk to the front of the house on the north side of the
property. Our new RV is 28' long. This should allow a comfortable 6 to 8 feet from the end of the RV
to back of sidewalk and a couple of feet from the structure.

at the sidewalk stepping to approximently 2-1/2 feet was built 7-8 years ago. This wall extents to the
base of the slope in the back of the property. The space remaining between the chimney and
the face of the wall is 7'. The south side of the property has 8' of space between a concrete curb
separating properties. The south side also has a large CAN cabinet and the gas & elect. meters.
2.Parking of the recreational vehicle in the front yard would not interfere with visibility to or from
any street.
Kelly drive is a straight street and there would be 6 to 8 feet from the end of the RV to the back of
the sidewalk, allowing clear visibility up and down the street. There are no cross roads that would
be affected.
3.Parking of the recreational vehicle in the front yard would not interfere with traffic on the street
or sidewalk nor encroach into the street and utility right-of-way.
There is 38'-9" from the back of the side walk to the front of the house on the north side of the
property. Our new RV is 28' long. This should allow a comfortable 6 to 8 feet from the end of the RV
to back of sidewalk and a couple of feet from the structure.
