The police department is aware of an increase in criminal activity in the Village area and has been
actively investigating the cases. Below are the statistics for property crimes in the Village area over the
past three months, a comparison between 2019 and 2020 over the same time period, and a map of the
recent commercial burglary cases which are being investigated as an ongoing series:

In June 2020, there was an increase in
thefts from vehicles in the village area, and
in July, there was an uptick in commercial
burglaries that are being investigated as a
series. There are two detectives assigned to
the cases and they are working with nearby
agencies on other cases that may be
related. Surveillance videos from three of the
burglary cases have been collected and are
being reviewed for investigative purposes.

Patrol officers have been advised to extra patrol the area overnight. The police department has logged a
total of 247 proactive patrols in the village area between June 1-July 13, 2020 and will continue to
conduct extra patrols in the area.
