Library & Cultural Arts
• The annual In-N-Out Burger Cover to Cover Club has moved online this year and runs
Oct. 3 through Nov. 14. Children 4-12 may earn a certificate for a free hamburger or
cheeseburger for every five books read, up to a total of three certificates, by logging
their books online. As was done with the summer reading program, patrons may pick up
their rewards – coupons, not burgers – through the curbside library service.
• The library celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a dance performance by Ballet
Folklorico de Los Angeles on Thursday evening, Oct. 8, streaming on Facebook Live.
• Book clubs continue to be a popular draw throughout the month, with a new Spanish-
language evening book club added this month based on requests.
• The Cultural Arts Office is presenting a special series of events on October to coincide
with National Arts & Humanities Month. These free virtual events feature classical
music, jazz, theater, poetry, a renowned documentary film and a bilingual family
performance. Some events are recorded for watching on-demand while others are live
to allow the audience to ask the artists questions. This programming is a result of
partnering with the Carlsbad Library & Arts Foundation and the Carlsbad Friends of the
Arts.
