HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-04-08; Notices Proofs-LEGAL NOTICED RESOLUTION NO. 340 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOT- ICE OF THE HOLDING OF A REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELEC- TION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 8TH DAY OF APRIL, 1958, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OF- FICERS OF SAID CITY AS RE- QUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES, AND REPEALING RESOLU- TION NO. 336. • WHEREAS, under the provi- sions of the laws relating to gen- eral law cities in the State ol California, a regular general municipal election 'shall be held on the 8th day of April, 1958, for the election of two (2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years; a City Treasurer of saM City for the full term of four (4) years; and'a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four (4) years; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DE- CLARE, DETERMINE AND OR- DER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION .1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to general law cities within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, on Tuesday, the 8th day of April, 1958, a regular gen--eral municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing two (2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years; a City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four (4) years; and a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four (4) years. SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said! election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used 'thereat. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby au- thorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, print- ed matter and all supplies, equip- ment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION 8. That notice of the time and place of holding said elections is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and idirected to give sueh further or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said* City and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed andadopted.. SECTION 10. Resolution No. 336 is hereby repealed and de- clared to be of no further force and effect. SECTION 11. That this Reso- lution shall take effect immedi- ately. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the City Council held on the 10th day of February, 1958, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Mayor Castorena, Councilmen Ledgerwood, Robin- son, Helton and Baird. Feb. 27, 1958 -LEGAL NOTICE ORDINANCE NO. 8026 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8007 OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD BY PRO- VIDING FOR A DEFINITION OF A "BUILDING OF HISTOR- ICAL SIGNIFICANCE"; AND PERMITTING A "BUILDING OF HISTORICAL SIGNIFI- CANCE" TO BE MOVED, AL- TERED, REPAIRED AND RE- HABILITATED IN AND INTO THE CITY OF CARLSBAD SUB- JECT TO SPECIFIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS PRESCRIB- ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby ordain as follows.: SECTION 1. SECTION 403 OF "UNIFORM BUILDING CODE," 1955 EDITION, AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 8007, A- MENDED. Section 403 of "Uni- form Building Code," 1955 edi- tion, as adopted by Ordinance No. 8007 of the City of Carlsbad SECTION 4. SECTION 104 OF THE "UNIFORM BUILDING CODE" 1955 EDITION,' AS A- DOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO 8007 AMENDED. Clerk: Anna L. Halberg. Clerk: Alice May Eymann. Voting Precinct 2, comprising regular election precinct' Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 11. Polling Place: Pine Avenue School, Pine and Jefferson. Polling Place: Carlsbad City Hall Annex, 2960 Pio Pico Drive. Inspector: Leone E. Collins. Judge: Mary Pace, Clerk: Ida M. Westree; Clerk: Bertina: E. McCartney. Voting Precinct 4, comprising regular election precinct Nos. J),10 and 14. Polling Place: Magnolia Street School, Magnolia and Monroe. Inspector: Nelle M. Sawyers. Judge: Rose L. Glines. Clerk: Irene Walters Clerk: Geraldine McPherson. SECTION 5. That the compen- sation of the persons hereina- bove nameid as election officers is hereby fixed as the sum of NINE DOLLARS ($9.00) for each nspector, and SEVEN DOLLARS (57.00) for each Judge and Clerk, for said election. The rental for each of such polling places, where a charge is made, shall be the sum of EIGHT DOLLARS ($8.00) for said election. When required, the compensation of the Custodian of a building shall me NO DOLLARS for said elec- tion. SECTION 6. That the polls for said election shall be open at sev- en o'clock A.M., of the day of said election, and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M., of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as, provided in Section 5734 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 7.
