HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-04-08; Notices Proofs (2)-LEGAL NOTICE RESOLUTION NO. 340 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA CALLING AND GIVING NOT- ICE OF THE HOLDING OF A REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELEC- TION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY. ON TUESDAY, THE 8th DAY OF APRIL, 1958, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFI- CERS OF SAID CITY AS RE- QUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES, AND REPEALING RESOLU- TION NO. 336. WHEREAS, under the provis- ions of the laws relating to gen- eral law cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held on the Sdi day of April, 1958, for the election of two (2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years; a City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four (4) years; and a City Clerk of said Ci'ty for the full term of four (4) years; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DE- CLARE, DETERMINE AND OR- DER AS FOLLOWS : SECTION 1. That pursuant to th| requirements of the laws of th| State of California relating tolgeneral law cities within saiid State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in 'the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, on Tuesday, the Sth day of April, 1958, a regular gen- eral municipal 'election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing two (2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years; a City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four (4) years; and a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four (4) years. SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby au- thorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and for said election. The rental for each of such polling places, where a charge is maid'e, shall be the sum of EIGHT DOLLARS ($8.00) ior said election. When required, the compensation of the Custodian of a building shall be NO DOLLARS for said elec- tion. SECTION 6. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock A.M., of the day of said election, and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M., of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as pro- vided in Section 5734 of the Elec- tions Code of the State of Cali- fornia. SECTION 7. That in all partic- ulars no't recited in this Reso- lution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elec- tions in said City. SECTION 8. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby, given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized,instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as' required by law. SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City anid shall make a minute ol the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 10. Resolution No. 336 is hereby repealed and de- clared to be of no further force and effect.SECTION 11. That 'this Reso- lution shall take effect immedi- ately.PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the City Council held on the 10th day of February, 1958, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Mayor Castorena, Councilmen Ledgerwood, Robin- son, Helton anid Baird.
