I am a citizen of the United States and a resident of the county aforesaid;
I am over the age of eighteen years, and not a party to or interested in the above entitled matter.
I am principal clerk of the printer of the Carlsbad Journal a newspaper of general circulation,
published twice weekly in the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, and which
newspaper is published for the disse mi nation of local news and intelligence of a general character, and
which newspaper at all times herein mentioned had and still has a bona fide subscription list of paying
subscribers, and which newspaper has been established, printed and published at regular intervals in
the said City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, fora period exceeding one year next
preceding the date of publication of the notice
hereinafter referred to; and that the notice of
which the annexed is a printed copy, has been
published in each regular and entire issue of said
newspaper and not in any supplement thereof on

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Spe-
cial Municipal Election ii to be
held in the City of Carlsbad on June
7,1968 at which there will be sub-
mitted to the voters the following
measure:Shall Ordinance No. NS-8 be
adopted amending Chapter 3.12 of
the Carlsbad Municipal Code to in-
crease the transient occupancy tax
rate from 6% to 8%.

Shall Ordinance No. NS-10 be
adopted amending Chapter 3.12 of
the Carlsbad Muunicipal Code to
increase the transient occupancy
tax rate by an additional 2% to pay
for the promotion of tourism in the
city and for a public golf course,
tennis courts and related facil-
ities?

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN
that pursuant to Article 4, Chapter
3, Division 5 of the Elections Code
of the State of California, the legis-
lative body of the City, or any mem-
ber or members thereof authorized
by the body, or any individual voter
or bona fide association of citizens,
or any combination of voters and
associations, may file a written
argument, not to exceed 300 words
in length, for or against the City
measure. Said arguments shall be
accompanied by the statement re-
quired by Elections Code Section

ment

that, based upon the time reason-
ably necessary to prepare and print
the arguments and sample ballots
and to permit the 10-day examina-
