Geogrids for Sail Re1nfon.meui
••... ••••••ss.s..,,, ... *•,.•• . ...,..... . •.. .,.••• • . ...I....,.,,
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
MirogM T and XI' are high strength, high tenacity, high
molecular weight polyester geogrids in a full range of
wide width tensile strengths ta mest the most demanding
applicctions of soil reinforcement. Miragrid T geogrids
ore knitted, then coated with a durable polymer coating
to provide dimensional stability and protection from
installation damage. Mirogrid I geogrids have cross
direction strengths which allow biaxial reinforcement to
be utilized.
Mirogrid XT peogrids are woven and then coated with a
polymer coating to provide dimensional stability and pro,
tecrion against installation damage. Mirogrid XI
geogrids are uniaxial with the highest tensile strengths of
any reinforcement geogrid in the industry. The high mol
eculor weight. hih tenacity polyester yams used in the
Mirogrid geogrids result in excellent creep resistance.
The high molecular weight polyester fibers are also resis
tonI to the potential degrodative effects of hydrolysis and
chemical attack for the range of pH normally encoun-
tered in reinforced soil environments.
APPLICATIONS
Miragrid geogrids are used in a wide variety of soil rein-
forcemem applications including internally reinforced soil
walls, segmental retaining wall reinforcement, steep rein-
forced slopes, and reinforcement, in a variety of landfill
applications including potential voids bridging and
veneer stability. Applications where long term design
strength is necessary for the stability of the structure are
ideal applications where Mirogrid geogrids can be used.
ADVANTAGES
No recalling remains in place after being installed;
does not roll bock.
1ilo11e and tough — delivers immediate soil geogrid
stress transfer ensuring minimal movement of soil
Structure.
IJgIrttweght — at least 33% lighter than most rigid
geogrids
'Cost efiedive — creep resistant polyester fibers pro.
vide a higher allowable tensile strength, minimizing
the required number of geogrid layers.
High Long Term Design Strengths lIDS) — Mirogrid's
long term design strengths are backed up by more
than 30,000 hours of tension creep testing per-
formed at an outside, independent test laboratory so
you can be assured of credible, depend able long
term design strertaths.
Easy handling — no sharp edges which may injure
workers.
Wide rolls — rolls are triple the width of most rigid
geogrids, significantly reducing placement time thus
lowering cost.
Custem fabrication of rolls — fabricated to the specif-
ic requirements of the project.
Mirogrid peogrids provide the widest strength range,
arid are the hghest strength geogrfd products on the
mare$ "day.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES*
Before placing Mirogrid oeogrids, the surface should be
cleared of all debris and e foundation b05v proofrolled.
The grids should be rolled out, cut to length, thus elimi-
nating field connections; and laid at the proper elevation,
location and orientation. Since geogrids vary in strength
with roll direction, Mirogrid should be laid in the direc-
tion of main reinforcement.
After rolling out, the material should be tensioned by
hand until it is tout, free of wrinkles, and lying flat.
Adjacent geogrid rolls may be butted together side-by6
side without overlap. Splices should be avoided.
Certain Fill placement procedures may require the rein-
forcement to be hold in place by sandbags or fills, as
directed by on engineer. A razor blade, sharp knife or
scissors may be used to cut the material. pill placement
should follow the standard practice, or as defined in the
project specificalions or directed by the engineer. Care
should be token to prevent wrinkles and/or slippage of
reinforcement during h11 placement and spreading.
These guidelines serve as a genera! basis For installa-
tion. Detailed instructions are available from your
Nic&on/MWofi representa?rre.

Geogric*s for Soil R&nforcemeut
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Mitogiid I and XT ore high strength, high tenacity, high
moIeular weight polyester geogrids in a full range of
wide width tensile strengths to most the most demanding
applications of soil reinforcement. Miragnd T geogrids
ore knitted, then coated with a durable polymer coating
to provide dimensional stability and protection from
installation damage. Mirugrid I geogrids have cross
direction strengths which allow biaxial reinforcement to
be utilized.
Miragñd XT geogrids are woven and then coated with a
polymer coating to provide dimensional stability and pro.
tecrion against installation damage. Mirogrid XI
geogrids are unioxial with the highest tensile strenaths of
any reinforcement geogrid in the industry. The higir mol
ecular weight. hih tenacity polyester yams used in the
Mirogrid geogrids result in excellent creep resistance.
The high molecular weight polyester fibers are also resis
toni to the potential degradative effects of hydrolysis and
chemical attack for the range of pH normally encoun-
tered in reinforced soil environments.
APPUCATIONS
Mirogrid geogrids are used in a wide variety of soil rein-
forcement applications including internally reinforced soil
walls, segmental retaining wall reinforcement, steep rein-
forced slopes, and reinforcement in a variety of landfill
applications including potential voids bridging and
veneer stability. Applications where long term design
strength is necessary for the stability of the structure ore
ideal applications where Mirogrid geogrids can be used.
ADVANTAGES
No iec&ting - remains in place alter being installed;
does not roll back.
tas1be and tough - delivers immediate soil geogrid
stress transfer ensuring minimal movement of soil
structure.
l.ightweight - at least 33% lighter than most rigid
geogrids
Cost dedive -creep resistant polyester fibers pr(>
vide a higher allowable tensile strength, minimizing
the required number of geogrid layers.
Hl9h long Terse Design Strengths fLIPS) - Mirogrid's
long term design strengths are backed up by more
than 30,000 hours oF tension creep testing per-
formed at on outside, independent test laboratory so
you con be assured of credible, depend able long
term design 5tr0n0th5.
Easy handing - no sharp edges which may injure
workers.
Wide ,vfls - rolls are triple the width of most rigid
geogrids, significantly reducing placement time thus
10w8r1fl9 cost.
Custom fabrication oF rolls - fabricated to the specif-
ic requirements of the project.
Miraptd peagrkls provide she widest strength range,
strength geogrid produds on the

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
Before placing Mirogrid geogrids, the surface should be
cleared of all debris and the foundation base proefrolled.
The grids should be rolled out, cut to length, thus elimi-
nating field connections; and bid at the proper elevation,
location and orientation. Since geogrids vary in strength
with roll direction, Miragrid should be laid in the direc-
tion of main reinforcement.
After rolling out, the material should be tensioned by
hand until it is tout, free of wrinkles, and lying flat.
Adjacent geogrid rolls may be butted together side-by-
side withcut overlap. Splices should be avoided.
Cenorn fill placement procedures may require the rein-
forcement to be held in place by sandbags or fills, as
directed by on engineer. A razor blade, sharp knife or
5CisS0rs may be used to cut the material. Fill placement
should follow the standard practice, or as defined in the
project specifications or directed by the engineer. Care
should be token to prevent wrinkles and/or slippage of
reinforcement during fill placement and spreading,
These guidelines serve as a peiteto! basis for installa-
tion. Detailed instructions are available from your
Nicolon/Mirafi representative.

The creep reduced strength is determined as that geosynthetic tension level at which the total strain (instantaneous and creep)
01 the geosyntheC will not exceed 10% for the lifetime of in, structure. The partial factor-of-e.$ety for creeo used in determining
the steep reduced strength is based on 10.000 hour creeD Testing and extrnoiation of one order of magnitude. ASTM 0 5262

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
MimgrW T and XT are high strngth, high tenacity, high
molecular weight polyester geogrids in a lull range of
wide width tensile strengths to meet the most demanding
applications of soil reinforcement. Mirogrid T geogrids
are knitted, then coated with a durable polymer coating
to provide dimensional stability and protection from
installation damage. Miragrid I geogrids have cross
direction strengths which allow biaxial reinforcement to
be utilized.
Miragñd XI peogrds ore woven and then ceased with a
polymer coating to provide dimensional stability and pro.
tecrion against installation damage. Miragrid XI
geogrids are unioxial with the highest tensile strengths of
any reinforcement 9eo9r1d in the industry. The hih Mal.
eculor weight, hih tenacity polyester yams used in the
Miragrid geogrids result in excellent creep resistance.
The high molecular weight polyester fibers are also resis-
tant to the potential de grodotive effects of hydrolysis and
chemicaI attack for the range of pH normally encoun-
tered in reinforced sail environments.
APPUCATIONS
Miragrid geogrids are used in a wide variety of soil rein-
forcemem applications including internaliy reinforced soil
walls, segmental retaining wall reinforcement, steep rein-
forced siopes, and reinforcement, in a variety of landfill
applications including potential voids bridging and
veneer stability. Applications where long term design
strength is necessary for the støbliuiy of the structure are
ideal applications where Mirogrid geogrids can be used.
ADVANTAGES
No recofling - remains in place alter being installed;
d035 not roll bock.
f1cx1b1e and tough - delivers immediate soil geogrid
stress transfer ensuring minimal movement of soil
structure.
Lghtweight - at least 33% lighter than most rigid
geoqrids
Cost thedive - creep resistant polyester fibers pro.
'ride a higher allowable tensile strength, minimizing
the required number of geogrid layers.
1-11gb Long Term Design Strengths ILIDSI - Miragrid's
long term design strengths are backed up by more
than 30,000 hours oF tension creep testing per-
formed at an outside, independent test laboratory so
you con be assured of credible, depend able long
term design strengths.
Easy handling - no sharp edges which may injure
workers.
Wide ivfls - rolls are triple the width of most rigid
geogrids, significantly reducing placement time thus
lowering cost.
Custoni fvbricaton of rolls - fabricated to the specif-
ic requirements of the project.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES*
Before placing Mirogrid geogrids, the surface should be
cleared of all debris and the foundation bose proefrolled.
The grids should be rolled out, cut to length, thus elimi-
nating field connections; and bid at the proper elevation,
location and orientation. Since geogrids vary in strength
with roll direction, Miragrid should be laid in the direc-
tion of main reinforcement.
After rolling out, the material should be tensioned by
hand until it is taut, free of wrinkles, and lying flat.
Adjacent geogrio rolls may be butted together ide-by-
side without overlap. Splices should be avoided.
Cenoin fill placement procedures may require the rein-
forcement to be held in place by sandbags or fills, as
directed by on engineer. A razor blade, sharp knife or
scissors may be used to cut the materiel. pill placement
thoutd follow the standard practice, or as defined in the
project specifications or directed by the engineer. Care
should be token to prevent wrinkles and/or slippage of
reinforcement during fill placement and spreading.
These guidelines serve as a genera' basis for installa-
tion. Detailed instructions are avaiob1e from your
Nic&o,,/M,rofi represen?añve.

Colorado Mulch is produced
with one idea in mind - no suprises on the
job. Here are the details on simple,
qualityquality 66 ulc

Only No.1 newsprint is used. No yellow pages to cause
a "yellow brick road" on your next mulching job.
Consistent green dye in every Icc Our production
plant even allows custom tones to be blended if thas
been a past problem.
Certified quality.
Exceeds all mulch fiber standards set by Caltnms
(California Department of Transportation). Colorado Mulch
has been tested by Caltrans for Certified Compliance.
Top performance.
Low Moisture Content 10.2% (00/6)
'Low Ash Content 4.CP/o max.

Great prices.
Just dill iifot a bid. "Our achiancd processing plant
allows us to be competitive with any source you now have.
Delivery you can count on.
Obviously, is critical that you get quick, sure delivery.
Without it, we might as well not produce mulch in the first
place. We'll confirm your shipping date when you place
your order to get Colorado Mulch .where you need it, when
you need it.

Is fiber mulch better than
wood chips?
Colorado Mulch covers the ground like an umbrella
to let the water seep into the soil evenly with fewer
erosion problems.
A thermal barrier is also created by Colorado Mulch that
helps to ensure germination.
No possibility of introducing seeds that lead to future
weed problems.
Suggested applications rates.
Condition Rate per Acre (pounds)

Slope 92000

Erosion mulch lackifler
We also suggest adding 50 pounds of Colorado
-Mulch to every 100 gallons of water. With experi-
ence, you may be able to increase this loading rate,
but test with care to avoid plugging. Compared with
a deck nozzle, 10% lower loading is normally
required for hose applications.
