RE: 30-01164 Off Site Wetland Mitigation, P.O. No. 11475
Dear Allister,
The soils are acidic. The pH values are 5.99 and 6.13. Salinity is moderate at 1.99
millimho/cm for sample 1 and is low at 0.77 millimho/cm. Nitrogen is suflicient.
Phosphorus is low in sample 2. Potassium, zinc, boron and sulfur are low in both
samples.
Recommendations
General soil preparation for native plants. Broadcast the following materials uniformly.
The rates are per 1,000 square feet. Incorporate them homogeneously 6 inches deep:
Potassium sulfate (0-0-50) - 8 pounds
Triple superphosphate (0-45-0) —4 pounds for sample 2
agricultural gypsum - 15 pounds
good, qualty composted organic amendment - 3 cubic yards
For preparation of backfill mix for container, plants, uniformly blend the following
materials into clean excavated soil. Rates are per cubic yard:
Potassium sulfate (0-0-50) - 1/3 pound
Triple superphosphate (0-45-0) - 114 pound for sample 2
agricultural gypsum - 1 pound
good quality composted soil amendment - 15% by volume
Soil amendments derived from compost are expected to provide zinc and boron. Do not
over apply organic matter to native plants.
For site maintenance, apply calcium nitrate (15-0-0) at 6 pounds per 1,000 square feet
several times a year. If not over applied, it will help to increase the pH. Monitor the site
with periodic soil testing and adjust the maintenance program as needed. Do not acidify
the soil.
Sincere/
Gain A. Wallace, Ph. D.

Duane,
The analysis and results do not yield any concerns. I am fine with the Wallace Labs recommendations if
you want to expedite the process and move forward before John returns. -

Stuart / Duane,
I think we're looking for approval before John gets back - the suggested amendments are in the soil
report; is there any way we can get approval today? . .
Thanks,
Allister.

Subject: Wallace Soil Report - Offsite Mitigation
Hi Chuck,
Please find attached the soils report for the Offsite Mitigation job. I took two samples for the area where you
are currently processing topsoil.
I have previously submitted product information for the compost, fertilizer and other amendments, but don't
believe I have received confirmation that these were accepted.
I am requesting approval to proceed with amending the topsoil per the attached soils report and my submittals.
