In accordance with your letter of August. 8, 1969, we have determined
the structural asphaltic pavement section for streets within the subject
subdivision. We understand from your letter that the following Traffic
'Index numbersare to be used in design:

Park Drive 7
Valencia Avenue 5-1/2
Alondra Way and Bienvenida Circle 4-1/2
Representative samples of the proposed subbase soils were secured and
submitted to Testing Engineers for "R' Value tests. Laboratory tests
including grain size distribution, Atterbera limits, and sand equivalent
test were made in our laboratory. Results of these tests are noted on
the attached forms. The samples were secured at the following locations:

SK-D Park Drive Opposite Lot ill
SK-E. Park Drive Opposite Lot 104
The structural asphaltic pavement sections are designed on the basis
of '1R" Values of 8 for Valencia Drive, Alondra Way and Bienvenida'
Circle. An inspection of the site indicates that soils along Park
Drive are, for, the most part, similar to Sample SK-E; therefore, an
"R" Value of 10 was used for design. The structural pavement design'
were, using the above data, in accordance with Test Method No.

California. The results of our analysis indicate'that the structural

The paving materials should conform to the following-specifications:
'(A) Asphaltic Concrete shall be Type A asphaltic concrete
conforming to Section 39 of the State of California
Standard Specificati'ons, 1964. 5
(B) Aggregate Base 'shall be Class III aggregate base con-
• forming to the latest County of San Diego, Special
S S Provisions and Specifications for the Improvement of

New Streets. -
The above design assumes that the structural pavement sections will
be placed on undisturbed native soils or on properly compacted fill
soils.
