In accordance with the requirements of the City of Carlsbad, we have performed laboratory tests on
the proposed import Class 2 Aggregate Base (AB) material to be used as part of the pavement
section for the El Camino Real Widening Project adjacent to Bressi Ranch located in Carlsbad,
California. One representative sample of the Class 2 AB being made at the Cannon Road and
College Boulevard site was obtained and transported to our laboratory. Laboratory tests performed
on the representative sample included sand equivalent (in accordance with ASTM Test Method
D2419) and sieve analysis (in accordance with ASTM Test Method C136). The results of the
laboratory tests are presented on Table 1.
Based on the City of Carlsbad requirements and the Caltrans specifications (Section 26-1.02A) as
indicated on Table 1, the representative Class 2 aggregate base sample met the city requirements.
