In öcordance with th requt of Gar, 'Potter of Smith Cnsulting Architects, and as.
required by the City of Carlsbad, we have reviewed the foundation plans for the subject
site These plans were reviewed for conformance with the assumptions, conclusions,
and recommendations of the above referenced geotechnical report.

plans for the building were prepared by Prime Structural Engineers, are dated
November-2, 2005 and are identified as follows:

Our review of the foundations plans indicate that they have incorporated the
recommendations of the above referenced geotechnical report. It should be noted that
our review was limited to the geotechnical aspects of the project, and no
representations as to the suitability of the structural designs are intended.
Please note that per the review sheet (provided to us via Smith Consulting Architects on
December 1, 2005) prepared by Esgil Corp., the third party reviewer for the city of•
Carlsbad, the following note should be added to the foundation plan:
"Prior to the contractor requesting a building department foundation inspection, the soils
engineer shall advise the building official in writing that:
The building pad was prepared in accordance with the soils report
The utility trenches have been properly backfilled and compacted and
The foundation excavations comply with the intent of the soils report"
