In accordance with your request,we have completed laboratory testing of selected samples of
de from Reef Circle Street at the Casero Development in Carlsbad, the' pavement subgra
California. Four samplesof the ubgade soil were collected from the site by Group Delta
Consultants between October 10th, and 15th, 2014. R-Value tests were conducted on the
samples in general ac!corJance with California Test Method 301. The R-value test results varied
from 5 to 24, as summarized in Figure 1.
i Recommended pavement sections for the site are also shown n Figure 1. These sections are - based on the a minimumR-Value of 5, and a Traffic Index of 5.0 for Reef Circle Street, as shown

LABORATORY TESTING
Laboratory testing was conducted in a manner consistent with the level of care and skill
ordinarily exercised by members of the profession currently practicing. under similar conditions
and in the same locality. No warranty, express or implied, is made as to the correctness or
serviceability of the test results, or the conclusions derived from these tests. Where a specific
laboratory test method has been referenced, such as ASTM or Caltrans, the reference only
applies to the specified laboratory test method, which has been used only as a guidance
document for the general performance of the test and not as a "Test Standard". A brief
description of the various tests performed for this project follows.
Classification: Soils were classified visually according to the Unified Soil Classification System as
established by the American Society of Civil Engineers in general accordance with ASTM 02487.
R-Value:, R-Value tests were performed on selected samples of the pavement subgrade
materials in general accordance with CT301. The test results are presented in Figures A-1.1
through A-4.2.
