Gentlemen:
Pursuant to your request, we have responded to a review prepared by Land Development
Engineering.
BACKGROUND
The referenced report is still valid and addresses the proposed development and the current codes.
UNDERLYING SOIL TYPE
The site is underlain by a black clay on the sur4face which transcends with depth to a brown clayey
silt
PERVIOUS PAVEMENT
We have reviewed Site Plan A-1 prepared by Begovich and Haug Architects. The building
foundation has been designed as a continuous footing bearing into a compacted fill. The bearing
value of the foundation soil was determined from the shear test calculation of the underlying soil.
The shear test ofthe soil was prepared in a saturated condition, and does accounts for the effect of
saturated soil. We recommend that the depth of removal be extended to 4 feet and the foundation
depth be extended to 36 inches where pervious pavements are adjacent to the building foundation.
This report is subject to review by the controlling authorities for this project.
We appreciate this opportunity to be of service to you.
