In ac:cordance with the request made by Mr. Sam Gaines of Rick Engineering in San Diego,
California, a review was made of the preliminary grading plem prepared by Rick Engineering
of San Diego and dated April 2, 1973 with a revision on May 23, 1973. The preHminarygrad-
ing plan shows a total of 129 lots easterly of Borings 4 and 11 described in our report da'ted
May 10, 1973.
Generally ,the proposed cut and fill slopes shown on the grading plari are feqsible ,from slope
stabiLity poirH of view except the proposed 2 horizontal to 1 vertical cut slope southerly of

configuration of the landslided zone. Detailed slope stobilHy analysis based on the geometric
configuration of the landsl-ided mass should be performed to determine the 'required thickness of
the stabilized fills and the necessity of a shear key for the fill slope. The recommended thickness
of overex~avation may have te be adjusted in accordance with the findings of the slope stability
analysis.
