Dear Mr. Goethals: your request, this addendum has been prepared in response to the City of Carlsbad's Review of Documents to address the stability of the existing fill slopes and reevaluate the drainage swale location with regard to the structures at the subject site. In accordance with SLOPE STABILTY ANYLSIS Based upon the results of direct shear tests performed on undisturbed samples of the fill and formational soils, it is our opinion that the 1 1/2 to 1 (horizontal to vertical) existing fill and cut slopes along the northern property line will be grossly and surficially stable. However, a review of the boring logs indicate that loose to medium dense fill soils underlie the existing pads. In addition, surf icial erosion was observed on the existing fill slopes. Therefore, we recommmend that the fill slopes be recompacted to a minimum of 90 percent relative DIRECT SHEAR SUMMARY 5000 C I ' ! ; I ' I I ' 4500 I ' i ~ I I I I I I I ~ I I · I 4000 f I I I ! I !
